Can’t Connect to the Server? “Connection failed after 6 retries”
- Disable your VPN and try connecting again.
- Turn off your router for 15 seconds, turn it back on, and reconnect.
Black or Pink Textures
This usually means that some of the required game content is missing or has not finished downloading.
- Restart Garry’s Mod and reconnect to the server.
- Open the developer console by pressing
~. - Enter
mat_specular 0and press Enter.
The game may temporarily freeze while the materials reload. Once the process is complete, the textures should display correctly.
Game Crashes While Connecting
- Open Garry’s Mod in your Steam Library and select Properties.
- Open the Betas section.
- Under Beta Participation, select x86-64 — Chromium + 64-bit binaries.
- Restart the game and try connecting again.
“Host Error: Client’s map [maps/dro_hopespeak_v3.bsp] differs from the server’s”
Restart the game and try connecting again. Your local copy of the map needs to update.
You Can’t Hear Other Players in Voice Chat
- Open Steam and select Settings.
- Go to Interface.
- Under Steam Client Beta Participation, select No beta chosen.
“You Don’t Have Access to This Server”
Contact Shinri Trial Support and specify which game session you are registered for.
